Finding Joy and Meaning in the Birth Chart

While using astrology to look at problems either we or our clients are facing is common and helpful, we can also provide balance and potential resources by bringing in topics that may give different people the most joy and/or meaning. This lecture explores the different places in the birth chart to look for topics and areas of life most likely to provide these qualities, illustrated through example charts and real-life stories. This is then extended further to briefly touch on the larger role of positive luck in life, and the potential societal benefits of collectively acknowledging the areas in which things go well for us.

This lecture was based on both existing anonymous client and other charts as well as a survey returned by over 100 people volunteering their own greatest sources of joy and meaning, then clarified in follow-up exchanges and compared with their birth charts.

This 75-minute lecture was presented at the NORWAC 2019 conference for the first time. Your purchase will include both the audio file and the pdf version of the 46-slide Powerpoint presentation, including visuals of the example charts discussed during the lecture.

Repeating Years, Repeating Themes

Annual profections is a timing technique that shows which life themes will be highlighted during each year of life, creating a 12-year repeating pattern that you can trace back in your life. This lecture will explain the basics of how this technique works, and then show what this repeating pattern looks like using a variety of example charts. The lecture also introduces what to look for in timing more specific events within a specific year related to that year’s main theme.

Saturn Returns and Sect

The ancient concept of sect, which is the distinction between day and night charts, can be used to help explain why different people experience their Saturn returns in remarkably different ways.

This lecture focuses on how the subjective experience of the Saturn return as either more challenging or more constructive can be altered depending on the sect of a chart, and what implications that has for how life’s difficulties are regarded in contemporary astrology. Included are a number of example charts so you can get a sense of how this distinction works out in real people’s Saturn return experiences.

The lecture was recorded on September 27, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona at a conference organized by the International Society for Astrological Research.
